I was wondering if setting up a DIY CO2 diffusing through an airstone directly underneath the filter intake would harm my filter in anyway. I have one of the new Marineland filters.
running co2 into a filter inlet is a bad idea. for one, it can be really noisy and annoying. two, is that is can cause a buildup of gases inside the filter, cause your impeller to run extremely hot, melt the plastic around it and you're out of a filter. i've seen it happen. don't chance it.
