I've decided on a Marineland Canister for a 58 gallon planted tank I'm getting ready to set up. Just a planted community tank.

The 220 is rated to 55 gallons. The 360 is rated from 55 to 100 gallons. I would normally get the 360 for extra filtration but I'm also wanting an inline heater. The Hydor heater only goes up to 5/8" inside diameter which is what the 220 had. The 360 has 3/4".

Which should I get? Will the 220 be enough for a planted tank?

Thanks for any help.

most will say the more filter the better. I have the 360 on my 55 and I wouldn't go smaller. Remember that gph numbers are for the filter pump itself with no resistance, once it gets dirty the flow will be lower.
