I've been planning to start a very easy, low tech planted tank. It's a 20 gallon high/tall tank. I have the hardscape set. What I've been very undecisive on is what type of carpeting plant to use. My real question is, would marimo moss make a good carpet? I do realize it's technically algae. If not, what is a good carpeting low tech plant?

Marimo moss isn't a great choice because it doesn't anchor to the substrate very easily. Other mosses, like fissidens sp. or pellia (wave moss, not actually a moss) are better because they'll attach to things. When it comes to vascular plants, dwarf sag is probably the easiest, followed by S. repens.
