Hi All,

Anyone have any experience replanting in Aqua Soil (original) in a tank containing CRS or other sensitive fish/inverts?

It's way past due to uproot and replant some Blyxa that's taken over my 8 gallon and I don't have anywhere to transplant the shrimp during/after the re-plant.

Do you think I'll kick off a mini-cycle or kill any CRS if I just replant small sections at a time and do WC's in between?

Doubt you'll have a problem but just move things slowly and gently. Monitor ammonia levels if there's a concern and do water changes in the event of a spike of some sort.

I've done major replanting in a ten gallon in AS without any issues.

In fact the shrimp love the disturbed substrate and crowd around the newly upturned AS to eat microscopic organisms that are now accessible to them.

If you want to be safe just put some prime in the tank prior to the replant to neutralize any harmful stuff that may be released.
