I added two dried magnolia leaves to my shrimp tank about a week ago and while the shrimp were all over it initially, within an hour or two, they had moved on and there hasn't been much interest since. Should I just remove it as it appears they aren't interested in it or does it take more time for the bio-film to develop? This was my first time adding leaves and I was really hoping that they would go nuts when it went it.

They will scavenge the leave and you'll slowly see it deteriorate til there's nothing left. You wont see them all over the leaf 24/7

I was hoping to find oak but the trees haven't really started dropping them yet. I saw magnolia leaves on a walk and had read somewhere that someone was using them in their shrimp tanks.

Thanks Lnd. I guess I was expecting more interest but I'm glad to know I can leave them in there until they're gone.
