Hello,
Looking for plants to take up some vertical background space in a 29 gallon aquarium. I do not dose ferts but use roots tabs.

I was thinking maybe jungle vals or balansae crypts but other suggestions are welcome!

Thank You!

Cryptocoryne retrospiralis has been one of my favs. It's not as common as a jungle val and can add some dark tones if you're into that. It also has an interesting leaf texture. Balansae is also gorgeous, but the leaves are too thick for my taste.

There's also Crinum calamistratum is also a pretty neat plant.

I would second some nice vals if you want something strictly for the back. A sword (maybe a red one?) would also grow nice and tall for you with those root tabs, but might take up more tank depth.
