Did I post this already? If not,he's got a few vids on high tech plants thriving in low tech (No Co2) tanks. So,it can be done. I have Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia looking pretty darn red..same for a nice Tiger Lotus. He goes much further..

That's a beautiful tank! I have a low tech tank with super red, red crypts, etc.growing. They ludwigia is shooting up quick. too. I've got it in 2 tanks and it's doing great in both. Just 9w bulbs. There's also anubias, java fern, java moss, a bunch of floating plants, and different 'worts'.

I've never had luck with reineckii in a low tech tank.... hum i wonder why.
