I was just at an LFS and they were pointing out what they called a whiptail cat.
I never buy w/out researching first, but when I looked up sucker cats, it sure looked more like a loricaria cat.
Are these safe for planted tanks?
Safe w/ cherry shrimp?

Yes, they're perfectly safe for planted tanks. They do need driftwood to munch on, though and might chew on plants if they get hungry enough.

Here's a good site on catfish. Just scroll down till you see the Loricaria genus

OK, guess loricaria covers many kinds, so I saw a Pumila that looks pretty similar

Cool, thanks lego, that site is chock full of info/cats, guess I better get familiar w/ L#'s to distinguish types.
It may be a while before adding any cats after reading up on that many species!
