Hello,

I am setting up a new tank(46BF) and need some wood, and rocks.
Not sure what I want exactly(can't make up my mind between 2 flavors of setup) but I have seen some tanks that inspire me(see bottom links for idea tanks). I am in the pre-thought phase!:icon_eek:

As for the rocks: Several of one type would probably be best, should probably go well with lighter green plants in the background.

I think some Manzanita branches, and one tree trunk style would work out for the wooded setup, or a combo single piece perhaps that blends the 2 together.

Mind you I'm not attempting to copy any of these threads below, I'm simply using the "flavor" of each to infuse my own setup with ideas.

Idea threads:
http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=182404 (For the stones)

http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=176985 (For the Wood)
&
http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=195372 (For the Combo look "feel")

I have already posted a thread for the plants I would like to acquire in (now) WTB section. I will post a thread there for the wood/rocks when I have my mind in a less "fluidic" state about setup.

Thanks for all ideas here.:) oh and if you do have some wood or rocks PM me the link(s) and I'll see if they will fit what ever design I end up with.

Hi Imi Statue,

Those are all nice set-ups; I typically recommend doing wood or stone but seldom both although the one you linked to was done very well. I know a source for the Seiryu type stone in third example locally if you can make it to Seattle but unfortunately they do not ship.

Here is a couple of pics of my 45 gallon tall (36" x 12" x 24" tall). The biggest challenge for tall tanks is getting the light down to the substrate level.

@Seattle_Aquarist;
Thanks. Although I'd love to be able to pick up rocks and wood, I do not travel well as I do not drive, and I don't think I'd be able to get them on the CT bus with any walking involved.

I like your setup's "simple" design, This is along the lines I'm looking for overall. I will not be to worried about the lighting as the hoods I am using have 4 X 30 watts. Should be good for my listed plants in the WTB section.

I'd even be willing to pay someone else to drive the stuff to me after I made my mind up.
