I have a 75 gallon pretty densely planted tank with 1 angle fish and about 20 rummy nose tetras. I’ve been looking for the perfect fish to pair with my angle that isn’t another angel fish. I was thinking maybe a blue acara but I read they might eat my rummy noses. Also I can’t do rams as every ram i’ve bought has died within a month for some reason. If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated :)

Angel is as likely to eat rummy as acara if it is a large male. Angels don't really need tank mates per sey but if you want to add more fishes some recommendations include another school of tetra like serpae, some cory - i like sterbai or eques, an L397 or L204... if you want a cichlid you could do a group of keyholes (5) or an electric blue acara or apistogramma agasizz or a Nannacara anomala (either 1 male or 1 m/1 f - but not 2 males or 2 femaels) or a male cockatoo.

If the angel has been by itself for a few years it might object to new tank mates.
