Local Garage Sale / Swap / Fundraiser on 8-25

Hey all, really sorry for the short notice if anybody happens to be interested...just occurred to me that should've posted up here long ago.

I dunno how many of our local planted tankers have crossed over to the dark side of reefing, but our local club is holding an event this Saturday. It's mostly a garage sale / swap, and I know that quite a few people will be bringing tanks and equipment that are good for both fresh and saltwater. There will also be coral vendors and a raffle being held. Entry is free, proceeds from the raffle are going to the family of a member of our club that recently passed away due to cancer. The raffle's grand prize is a 120 gallon FULL reef setup. Everything you'd need to get going

Details:

Where: Aqua Medic Warehouse
5803 Byrd Drive
Loveland, CO 80538

When: August 25th 2012
What time: Setup @ 9am, event from 10am - 5pm

Everyone!! So, to my knowledge this is MASC's, at least in 4 years, first garage sale and swap!!! If you have things piling up in your garage/home (who doesn't) then now is your time to empty out the garage and find those items a new home!!! If you're interested in setting up a table to sell your used items please either confirm through here, or PM one of the BOD members!

As the title states, this will also be a frag swap!! Because there is limited space we are first reaching out to our Platinum sponsors to see who will be selling. I have a couple that I need to just iron out some details with and I will announce them as I finalize things. Once there has been sufficient time for our sponsors to respond we will then be opening up tables for our members to sell off of!! But if you're a member and are interested, now is the time to let the BOD know so that we can add you to the list !! Hopefully there will be some sweet choice frags for you to take home!!!

As always there will be a raffle, and the items will be announced as the date comes closer!! Not only will there be normal raffle items that benefit the club, but we also will be holding a raffle for our fallen comrade Don Volak's family. This raffle WILL include the tank that has been worked on by majicmike, craigar, and martinsreef! We are pre-selling tickets for the tank at $5 per ticket if you are not able to be there. Please PM or get in touch with Adam (amonchak) in order to work that out. All other raffle items will be as normal, $1 per ticket or $20 for 25 tickets.

We will also be grilling food for sale, as well as beverages! Bring an appetite!! It's time to try and get people excited about their tanks during the summer!!!

Thanks everyone, again...sorry for such short notice. A link to the thread on our site, including pictures of the awesome tank that's going to be raffled off can be found here:

Come win the tank and cross over to the darkside. ;) MTS beckons in the worst way.

What a fun sale! Scored a light and talked to some really nice people!
I'm really glad you were able to make it. If I had known you were going I would've attempted to introduce myself. :)

Glad you enjoyed it, they're a good bunch.
It was really neat! Everyone is so friendly -- not used to that down here! Which one were you? We got there about 4:30 so it was starting to wind down. I probably could have spent hours there if we'd gotten up there early enough. I LOVE Loveland! What a wonderful town!
Hmm I was probably just about heading out when you arrived...but if you spotted a tall guy with 2ft of dreadlocks, then that was me. :)
Omgoodness! I love Loveland! One of my bffs lives in f. Collins!

Glad you had a great community get together!
Okay, I did see you, in the "coral room" area. I got elbowed in the back so I bailed. :p It was a mad house in there! Who won the tank? I couldn't find anyone to buy a ticket from, but boy is that a beautiful setup!

Yea...you were there for the madness when everyone was bagging up their purchases from earlier in the day so they could get home...myself included. ;)

The raffle happened at like 3 or 3:30...they had some small items then did the tank last. One of the new club members had already won it, so that's probably why purchasing tickets proved difficult. :)
We're thinking about moving to Loveland, so it was nice to get a feel for the "real" people in the area. Everyone seemed really nice. Did you get a lot of goodies?

There were enough really gorgeous corals to almost convince me to try SW. Not quite, though. It will take a really swift kick in the arse to get me to venture there. It scares me. The drawing having already taken place would explain why no one seemed readily available to sell a ticket. ;-)
