i can tell you that the emmersed form had a very red stem and did have the "tea cup flower pods" right where the leaf meets the stem..i posted over at apc as well

Can I get a better look at the leaf? Looks like Mermaid Weed from here.

Dunno about the pods, but it had a redish brown stem before it got established.

your edges are serrated...mine are smooth... i think its the pearling bubbles that you are seeing
