Hello, I will be getting a 65 gallons tank, high. 36" X 18" X 24" high.

I have 3 lamps where i can put 3 CFLs. But the tank is high. Do you think I can grow low light plants with this. I could put 23W CFLs or 40W CFLs?

Plants like hygro. polysperma, vallisneria, limnophila sessiflora.

I did look at the PAR data for spiral bulbs, but I see the measures stop at 18" from the substrate, so I am not sure it would work with 24" high.

Thank you, Michel.

You can kinda overcome some of depth problems with good light coverage... I use 3 straight tube flouros over my 65 and medium light stem plants will grow up from the substrate if they arent too shaded..

The problem i see with the spiral cfl's over your tank is that there will be "hot spots" where more light will concentrate and you might not be able to grow as many demanding varieties as easily outside those zones..
