Hello, everyone.
I have found the planted tank forums very helpful but still unsure of some things when it comes to lighting levels in any given situation.
I am in the process of planning a (hopefully) fairly heavily planted tank. I am planning to place an Aquaticlife t5 ho 2 lamp 2x54 lighting fixture over a standard 55 gallon tank. I plan to use one 6000k bulb and a 6700k bulb.
Now, from a bunch of reading here in these forums and elsewhere I am not sure what light levels this will give me. Some will say low to medium and others say that this is high light. Originally I was planning to buy two of these fixtures but recently I decided to start with one and go from there.
So, what level should I expect from the single fixture set up? Should I plan to grow high light plants and plan for a pressurized co2 setup or will a single t5 108 watt fixture keep me in the lower light arena. Would two of these fixtures (216 watts) ever be useful or just overkill?
Thank you for any information you all can provide.
