i am not 100% on this, but seems people here say that it is okay to use with ferts. It might remove some no3 but thats about it. I use carbon in my filter every once and a while with no ill effects..but thats just my personal observations.
ya it is fine to use it constantly...it will stop doing its job in 7 days then it just becomes a place for bacteria to grow and flourish, so that is a good thing. It becomes a biological filter so to speak.
