hi, just wondering why I can't always have the lily pipe breaking the waters surface? why only at night?

- it eliminates surface film
- it super oxygenates the water
- it gives great shimmer ripples

I also notice flow is gentler.

any problems why not to always have the lily pipe breaking the surface?

it oxygenates the water up to a point where it start to degass any CO2 you are injecting or want to be in your tank for your plants. at night plants dont care as much for CO2 since they are taking in oxygen, so then the pipe above surface is fine.

generally for a planted tank you will want a certain amount of CO2 in the water for your plants in the daytime.

probably the main reason.
