Hi all I was wondering I have a zoomed flora sun that is 5000k. I've read that a 6700k is better. Can anyone tell me which is better for the plants? I have a 55 gallon low tech setup no co2 just use root tabs liquid ferts t8 fixture. Oh and co2 booster

Most plants will take in 6700k light better than 5000k.

Most times unless it is LED, you can just switch out a bulb instead of a new fixture.

Plants can still grow with 5000k, but 6700k bulbs usually put out a good amount of PAR and they look more natural. CO2 booster? You mean excel or soemthing?

Yea I use API co2 booster

Either 5000K or 6500K will work fine for plants.

5000K is a bit more yellow, while 6500K is more white, with a tint of blue.

Use whatever looks best to you.

I've had 5300 and 6700. Darkblade's assessment is dead-on. Personally, if I had to choose one, I'd go for 5000, but that's strictly taste. Either will grow plants.

Look into using Glute. You can make 2.5 gallons for the price of a few small bottles of the API brand. Its also a stronger solution.
