So I'm wondering if the distance from my tank to my lights is to great. I have a 40B with 140 W of 4ft long shop lights hanging 14 in above my tank. Will this greatly affect the effectiveness of the lights? I just need low-mid lvl light. I've got anacharis, wysteria and java moss. Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you

all of those plants do well with lower lighting, so I think having the lights raised would most likely be fine.

are shop lights considered t8, t5ho, ect?
