Hey, I have a normal T8 fluorescent light and hood fixture for a 20 gallon. I would like to upgrade to a T5 HO bulb. Is there anyway to get a T5 HO bulb to work on a T8 standard aquarium hood?

I've seen some other forums talking about it but not specifically answering my question. Thanks for all the help

You could probably retrofit the hood (new endcaps), and you will need to change the ballast.

If you are not set on T5, you could use some LED fixtures that have adaptors to fit in the T8 socket. I know Eheim and Daytime have such adaptors but I think other brands have them as well. Depending on the LED fixture, you will get about the same results.
