I have a 120g 4x2x2. I have a cheap aquatraders 48" 4xT5 light with 2x65k's and 2x10k bulbs. all 4 are brand new.

the fixture is about 1" from the top of the tank on its own little brackets on each end sitting on the rim on the tank. my problem is that the light doesnt spread evenly throughout the tank. if I keep the fixture directly in the middle of the tank, the front and back doesnt get that much light. so.... I decided to buy a bracket that attaches to the ceiling. how high should I go? if I go too high too much light will escape the front and back. should I just go like 5" higher than the tank? or should I just leave it like it is? what i do now is move the light back and forth whenever I think about it and its working.
