I've been getting a bit of staghorn and BGA. I started Maracyn two days ago for the BGA and I ordered a 2L bottle of Excel that I'm waiting on.

I am wondering if 2X55 watt Compacts is too strong for my 30 gallon aquarium. I finally got a decent supply of plants. (Petsmart is the only decent supplier in the area) The algae is getting better, but I want to avoid any future problems.

Still a novice to the planted tank, even though I've been doing this for about 10 years. Thanks in advance for any advice,
Peter

thats alot of light.
you'd be okay with only one of the bulbs running (if possible)
the plants available from petsmart do not require such high lighing.

what kind of plants are you keeping btw?
