So I'm still real new to planted tanks and any advice is appreciated.
I've been having some difficulty deciding on how to light my pentagon tank. After some research I've come across the the clamp dome style shop lights and cfl.
I should be able to fit 4 maybe 5 over the tank and use the 100 watt equivalent in 6500k.
Now I'm a bit confused on what light intensity I'd be at, low, med, high I'm not sure.
The tank is 22-23 inches to the substrate.

If you refer to this thread, that hoppy created, you will see that the the 23W cfl's (100w equivalent) will produce about 60-70 par at 22.5" which would put you at high light. Now that is assuming that the light is resting directly above the water and that you do not have and lids, whether glass or acrylic, which will reduce your light output. So I would say depending on whether you have lids and how high the lights will be from the substrate, it would be safe to say that you will be in the upper medium to lower high light area.
