Light in DSM to high?

672 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Nigel95
Bought an extra desk lamp to improve my weak in build lighting (5 watt LED). It's a 25 litre / 6,6 gallon tank. I have monte carlo and eleocharis acicularis mini which require 0,5 watt / litre. Going to put a 7,5 watt LED lamp in the desk lamp. Will this be to strong during dry start (8 hours a day) because there is no water in it?

that will be fine. the plants can handle a lot of light during DSM. Keep the soil wet, more than just moist. also keep a LITTLE air opening. having a complete seal will increase your risk for mold. you dont need it to be super humid inside, just wet for the plants to root. I've heard people do 12-14 hours a day for DSM. I did 8 for mine with medium high light. had no problems.

Is the humid in the picture fine or to much?

Holy the added desk lamp brings an explosion of humidity just put a little air opening. Is this big enough to avoid mold/fungus? @IntotheWRX
