I'm a doofus. The whole time I have owned my 26G tank (2+yrs), I thought it was 30" long. I ordered a coralife aqualight 65W fixture, and now it's 6 " shorter than my tank length. My tank is actually 36" long. A return is not an option.

How would you recommend me mounting this on my tank?
1) Lay it flat on the glass cover
2) Us legs so it is elevated a bit

I do have plants toward the corners of my tank, and I am worried that they may not get enough light. However, they are supposed to be low light plants. Should I even worry?

Thanks.

I would elevate it on legs to try and get it as efficient as possible. Also keep in mind that not only is the whole fixture short you will have the dead areas inside the fixture where there is no light coming out of so it would be more then the 6"
