Okay a bit of a different side of things.
I have an established hunk of hair algae.
It has taken over the top of a huge portion of java moss.
Flows with the current in a really neat way, just let it go.

I farm a bit myself. I have a 10 gallon with cuttings in it that is for hatchery purposes. Recently I let some bullfrog tadpole loose in there and the little guys have pretty much consumed any algae that was in there.

This is it?
Someone must have some beautiful pics of their algae.

Great BBA culture on some very old narrow leave java fern.
Had to break this soccer ball sized plant into something more manageable.

I guess if I asked for examples of pearling there would be a lot of response. :laugh2:

I'm sure there are some fine algae pics out there.

I had a huge patch of BGA and while waiting for an even larger chunk it just disappeared? Go figure.

Came back one weekend to this. Determined it was diatoms. But JEEZERS it was long. Cut the light cycle and added some cleanup crew, manually removed... then gone. Now I have the more pesky persistent algaes
