thinking about using eco complete in my tank, but id like to see what it looks like in some planted tanks, so if you got any pictures that would be great.

its hard to tell in the bag but does it pack down like dirt or is it like pebbles

can you plant HC in it easy?
here's an old tank shot of my 29gal when
I first put EC in it and replanted everything.
I grew Glosso and ET well, but never any HC.
that HC stuff uproots too easily for my fish.
I'm not a big EC fan, and won't use it again.

I like it. I think it's better than flourite. But I'm sure Aquasoil is better, hence the higher price.
its has dirt and pebbles, over time all the dirt will be in th e bottom and pebbles on top..
Just the way ECo planned it..
i just put in 3 bags in my 72.. it look nice...
HC seems to need fine-grained, but heavy substrate to stay down well. I've tried to grow it in my tank, but haven't had much success. It's always getting uprooted, but that could be in part because of my fish...."false" SAEs/flying foxes(boo!) and clown loaches. Just about everything flourishes, however.
You can see in my blog. I know it is in portuguese, but images don't need translation.

It really isn't more expensive when you consider that it takes two bags of eco-complete to equal one bag of AS.
yoink is correct, that's been documented elsewhere too...however AS is a PITA to work with...I got it mainly for the pH/kH lowering features, and to help plant growth more in my new low tech, if Eco wouldv'e done pH/kH would've gone w/ it
Yeah I calculated it out for a couple different tanks, Eco is the most expensive substrate that I could find. AquaSoil was actually a little cheaper.
