Hi all, I've been looking into TDS meters recently as I'm interested in having something continually monitoring my TDS. My question is, what sort of problems would there be with constantly leaving a tds meter in the tank to monitor TDS? Obviously algae and stuff would grow on it after a while, but periodic cleaning should be fine. I'm more concerned about corrosion and the sort. I found this site (EC/TDS/PPM Meter). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why you would want to do this. I can get a reading in seconds just turning mine on and dipping it in the water. Besides the potential problems you mention how about battery life?

If the TDS monitor is designed to stay in a liquid you should not have very many issues if you clean and calibrate it per the manufacturers instructions. I would not, however, use a pen type TDS meter because they are just not designed to do that.
