So I really don't want to do a leak test on my 75 gallon because that's slot of filling and draining of that much water . Has anyone just filled there tank . It's a marineland tank and the silicone looks really good on all the edges with no air bubbles I didn't know if being that it was marineland tank if they are built better . Should I still do a water leak test

Always a good idea but to be honest I did not with my marineland 60 gallon. All was good and still good. Just would give a better piece of mind.

You can't really judge the air bubbles until its filled as the pressure from the water has a large effect on this. I can say I have not leak tested many tanks and had no problems but there is no way I could recommend it. There is only one way to know for sure and that is to leak test it.

I filled my fluval studio 33 gallon after it sat in my shed for 3 years right where it was going to go. It was all good.

Filled my Redsea Max 250 (66 gallon) in my living room after it had been sitting in a buddy's carport for 2 years and I transported it 100km in my cargo van.

When your filling it you will notice a leak as it happens so how bad can it be??

Short of total seal failure (you know the explody kind) nothing the bad can happen all that fast.
Leak testing is always a good idea especially with a used tank. Honestly I have never leak tested a tank or had a leaker.

I love that everyone suggests doing it but we all openly admit that we don't :)

that makes my day!

Lol , what I probably will do it's put the sand in it and leak tested that way which means not draining it after the leak test but waiting to plant for a few days to make sure I don't have to drain it later

that's a smart choice. Barring being completely out to lunch you should notice anything bad happening. I marked the water level in my tank on the glass with a dry erase marker and left it in my living room for a couple of days to see what would happen. Nothing happened. Not often in life when nothing is what you hope happens.
I just leak tested my new 125 and never would have seen the chip hiding between the silicone and the frame if I hadn't filled it with water first. It's virtually invisible when the tank is dry.

Nope. But Marineland said they'd refund my money.
I leak check all my tanks, even new ones, you just never know!
I've wondered how people who want bigger tanks but don't have yard/garages handle this. The only ideas I have are to have alot of absorbent material surrounding the tank or put it in a kiddy pool.
