Just wanted to start a post on my finnex 4 that I've just set back up. Need to get myself back to the store and get more plants in here pronto, but was eager to start. Here's the specs:

finnex 4g
substrate: aquasoil amazonia (most from old tank with some new on top i had left over)
light: 27w home depot 'robocop' desk lamp
diy c02
dry ferts, EI dosing
stock hob filter that came with the tank
plants: ludwigia and small amount of moss(can't remember which kind) more to come!

I also am on the lookout for new rocks or wood(really not in love with these rocks), would love to find a nice piece of wood for this tank. As for little critters, I'm hoping to get some shrimp for this tank. Thanks for looking!

nice simple scape. the thiny on the right side it looks like a solar panel.

The thing on the right is used filter media from my daughters tank so it'll cycle faster. And thanks, can't wait to get more stuff in there!

Update 1-11-13

Just wanted to post a some updated pics taken a couple days ago, and from today. Getting some good growth already and the ludwigia seems to be coloring up pretty good I'll be trimming later and finding somewhere to plant the dwarf sag, any suggestions?

Also a couple pics of our inhabitants now, my 4 year old daughter begged me to put her platy in this tank. When we were getting her out, we found a baby! Both have been in for a little over a week and doing great. So the shrimp may have to hold off for awhile or we just might have a platy tank, which is ok by me. Love watching livebearers and thankfully have my daughters tank ready to go for any future babies, as she's already getting that boxy look in her belly again:wink:

Trimmed and planted, I like it so far. It's in the 60's here today so thinking about walking to the lake at the end of our road with the kids and collecting some branchy driftwood.

What kind of moss is that?

Wish I could remember! It's the only plant that I held on to from the last time I had this tank set up about two years ago. It was barely hanging on, now that it's greening back up hopefully it'll be easier to recognize soon. I've had a few different kinds, could be anything but probably just java. Although I remember buying some flame moss for this tank too lol.

Little update, plants and fish are doing pretty good. The dwarf sag a little too good, shot up like crazy in five days
