Hi all, it is important with the size of the mesh with purigen. Cannot buy Seachems' "The Bag" locally and not wanting to place such a small order online. Have used women's nylons for carbon and other media in the past and am guessing that it would hold the purigen. Anyone use this for purigen? Cheap as dirt for women's knee highs at Walmart. Thanks

Used it once doubled up. It worked OK, the random piece still managed to escape here and there, not a big deal.

The problem is going to be when it comes time to recharge. Panty hose doesnt hold up to a bleach soaking.

Thanks. But can't you remove it from the stockings and treat it? Place in new stockings? A pain I suppose.

It's not worth the hassle. I think you need a 180 micron bag. I'm sure you can find those online for like $5

I don't know. I buy things all the time on ebay from China and the shipping on small light items is sometimes free to $1.99

Try [Ebay Link Removed] I often find something on amazon which costs too much to have it shipped, then find it on ebay for slightly less and with free shipping.

Not going to bother even using it. Have just a tiny bit anyway....not worth the trouble. Tank is crystal clear without the use of that or carbon. Have a smallish bioload as far as I'm concerned (30 or so smaller fishes (tetras ,barbs etc.) Picked up some driftwood at local lakes and ponds over the weekend and is in the tank. Wood looked quite weathered so tannins won't be a problem as far as I can see. More plants is what I need right now !!
