Looking for fellow planted tankers in my area. I live in Overland Park currently, moving to Shawnee here in a couple months. Just wanted to connect with anyone local, maybe trade plants/animals, show off tanks, etc.

I'm just starting, so will keep this on my radar. I'm in Roeland Park.

@awknits Right down the street from my current residence! If you have any questions, need any help, feel free to ask! I'd be happy to offer any assistance I can.

If you're in need of any plants free of charge, my current list is -
Blyxa japonica
Rotala sp. (might be indica, bought it here locally at PetStop years ago and just keep propagating it)
Alternanthera reineckii "mini"
Hydrocotyle tripartita
Cryptocoryne wendtii
Staurogyne repens
Limnophila aromatica
Eleocharis mini (dwarf hairgrass)
African frogbit

Let me know if you'd like anything! I trim and pitch a ton, I'd rather give it to someone who could use it.

Very good! Let me know if you need anything on that list as well. I can set ya up with some trimmings. It won't be a lot for your 500 gallon...at all haha...but it's free! I'm running a high tech 29 gallon that I'm trimming from. Got a couple other tanks, but that's the only one that is currently over grown.

I'm in Independence-
Hey Dave! Have any plants up for trade?

Wish I could Join in! I saw the Kansas City tag and had to look in. I'm an old Shawnee guy and would love to be again but for now I'm in TEXAS!
Grandchildren have a strong pull.
I grew up in Shawnee and Lenexa, moving back into Shawnee from Overland Park here in a month. Wife and I just bought a house, exciting times! She's going to love it when I start setting up a ton more fish tanks since we're more permanently locating now haha. >:)

@david00061 @davescrews @awknits

Tank has become overgrown, time to dump some plants!

What I've got -
2x Blyxa japonica
Lots of AR 'mini'
LOTS of Rotala rotundifolia
Several stems of Ludwigia brevipes
Could part with some Staurogyne repens, some of it is in rough shape. A little nitrate mishap (too much frogbit, nitrate plummeted) resulted in some less than healthy older growth.
Few stems of Lindernia rotundifolia 'variegated'
Got a few nodes of Hydrocotyle leucocephala I can spare as well! Cool plant, I've just been floating it and it's put out emersed growth.

First come first serve, you pick it up!

Ooh, I live in Overland Park as well and am running several planted tanks. My emersed growout bin is pretty much overflowing with Bacopa carolinia and Rotala indica at the moment, although I'm trying to get my hands on more Miracle Grow Organic (my one MGO container in the bin has been growing plants like twice as fast) and buy a nice variety of stems to grow out. I just bought a 3 manifold GLA CO2 system so hopefully my tanks will have a lot of extra plants in the coming months as well. I'm rehabilitating a ton of moss: I tossed a tank full of moss into a 5g when I rescaped a tank and then sort of forgot about it and it sat on a sunny windowsill with no flow for 6 months. I've pretty much eradicated the hair algae that covered everything and with CO2 its growing pretty rapidly again. I know I had Fissidens fontanus and geppi, mini pellia, Subwassertung, cameroon moss, pilo moss, and I think a few others. I also have a colony of Malawa shrimp that is making a good comeback after almost dying off. These shrimp look almost like wild type cherries, but they don't breed with anything, and they're nearly indestructible. Heck, these guys were the only survivors after a CO2 mishap that killed every single other fish, shrimp, and snail in their aquarium. About 30 of them managed to recover from suffocation after lying still for about an hour. So yeah, I've got B. carolinia and R. indica if anyone wants some, but otherwise I should have some nice stuff to trade/giveaway in the nearish future.

Hi I hope I'm not too late to the party. I just started up a 75 gallon aquarium. I haven't had a decent sized aquarium in probably 10 years. Never an aquarium that was heavily planted.
I'm using two 50w Led floodlights from Amazon and the tank is dirted.
I can't find S. Repens anywhere form the 5-6 of the closest LFS's I can get to.

I know this is an old thread, but if you're still offloading any plants I'll take whatever you have from trimmings. Have a very sick 29 with a handful of plants that will soon move to a new 45 gallon currently being built. Most fish have been given away so just a handful and the shrimp, but it needs a complete breakdown to deal with the algae problem. I'd even be happy to pay you for them. Thanks.

Hey there. I'm still running my planted tanks, but have shifted a bit away from the "farm" tank I was doing there for a bit and gone back to a nature tank. I don't have any trimmings available at the moment, unfortunately.

What part of town are you in @Mumblesjackson ? I'm in northern Shawnee.
