Some of the plants have grown as much as 4 inches, the fish are doing great, and Ive got no algae yet... Yet. So hats off to all of you with all that great info. Once I get it exactly how Id like it Ill post a pic for you all to see.

Y'welcome.
But don't start blaming this board when the fish poop starts hitting the fan. Which it will. At some point. Part of the learning curve. ;)

Well, at some point it will be half empty. When the tank cracks.
When the heater breaks and evaporates the water.
When the filter leaks and pumps the water into the apartment below.
When he's so frustrated with clado that he whacks the tank with a baseball bat.
Ah, it's a wonderful hobby.

(I'm just posting this to use more silly smileys.

It's very exciting when it all comes together, isn't it?

Nope I disagree,,, as Aquarist posted in his last smiley crowd the excitement is when stuff goes south and your scrambling to cure it. Joy in success is calm and satisfying. Exciting is when the glass or filter housing breaks. :icon_eek:
Is that all from personal experiences? Sounds like you have had issues! :icon_eek:

Well you have come to the right forum, markstanfill88, for guidance. This is truly the most friendly and welcoming forum for this hobby and a very rich resource of information. I think what these guys are trying to tell you is whatever problems you may face down the road, don't let it discourage you. Whatever happens you can always work thru it.

I look forward to seeing your photos, and you should start an online journal here.

I'll second that. Because of this forum here, I have become more knowledgeable about planted tanks and just aquariums in general.
