I'm just starting a tank now for the first time. I'm pretty excited but when I've been to aquarium stores in Des Moines and Ames (I live in Ames), I'm not a fan of the plants they have available. I asked if they would special order some for me and they said when the weather warms up. Just 6 short months to go, I guess...
Anyway, I would love to buy some plants from some local Iowa aquascapers in order to get my tank started. I live in Ames but my wife drives to Iowa City once a week so it would be pretty easy to pick something up anywhere between the two.
I'm willing to get started with pretty much anything, but I'd particularly prefer some short and medium grasses or groundcover to start, as well as pretty much any red plant (not as interested in reddish or variegated, mostly just not green at all).
Anyone in a position to help out?
