Just looking to see if there's anybody around to swap plants with, suggestions for fish stores (I'm already assuming I've gotta go to Nashville or Knoxville).

Also, what's the water like here? I'm used to hard well water with very high TDS.

I don't know about nashville, but in knoxville there is the aquarium connection it is a nice place, limited amounts of plant species they did have some fl sunset crypts pretty cheap the ast time we were there. Their is a second one in knox forget it's name, but their plant tank when we went was over run with blue green algae so yeah but they did have some unusal live stock and had better stone/drfitwood than the aquarium connection, as far as water I have no clue ours city water here east of knox is hard , if we could meet up in knox sure I am sure we could swap plants

Thank you! I'm sure I'll be setting up a low tech, low light tank, so I'll have mostly Crypts, Bacopa stems, etc. I've been out of the game since I left Tampa in March 2012, so I'm a little rusty with names.

I would probably get most of my plants on here, so stores don't need to have plants, but a decent selection of healthy fish and reasonably knowledgeable/reputable is a must. Otherwise, I'll just go to a chain store. ;)

I went there to check out their saltwater stuff and dry goods for both fresh and salt. It's an okay store. Lots of freshwater fish selection, but that wasn't what was on my mind at the time, so I didn't look closely. Didn't look at plants at all. I was mostly there for saltwater stuff and was too disappointed to enjoy anything else. :/

Hi Amanda, I also have fresh & saltwater tanks. If your ever in the Chattanooga area (I live 30 miles north of town) give me a shout. Also there is a reef club in Chat. if your interested. It is struggling for members, I have often thought maybe could combine fresh & saltwater & get more interest.
