Hi all,

It was recently recommended to me that adding some peat granules to my filter cartridge will create more optimal water conditions for my Severum, and this is definitely something I'm looking into since right now "he" is my centerpiece fish.

My question is: What will this do to the Java Fern and Anubias that are in my tank? I know that these are both very easy and low-maintenance plants to keep, but will how will they handle softer water and lower pH?

My pH is already on the lower side for my cichlids (6.8 as of yesterday) and Alkalinity was in the "Ideal" 120-180 ppm range on my water strip kit.
