Obviously I'm not jayayssohn, but he's my good buddy and I am going to start a tank journal for him. He's spent a lot of time on this project and it's only just begun. Below will give you a good idea of just how the process for his 120P began:

\
^It starts with a 120P, ADA Stainless Filter, and a huge Truck.

^Another view

^The Stand mid-way through completion, didn't think we were going to do a journal so I didn't get many pictures.

^Formica has been added to the stand and it's almost complete

^It is complete!!!!!!!
ADA STYLE STAND FOR HIS 120P!!!!!!!!!!!

^Light's inside of the stand

^Testing the light

^Making adjustments

^Adding some cushion for the big momma!

^....Here it comes....

^HERE IT IS!!!!

This was just a short photo journal of the journey. I tried to help as much as I can but Jason really created the masterpiece. The light will be hung from the ceiling and we are still debating how to design the tank!

Give us some feedback!!

That is one of the best driftwood pieces and placements I have seen in a while. It almost reminds me of a hand for some reason...

I wish I could afford a rimless tank #Broketeenager

Hey KFryman, in your opinion, what is missing in this tank (besides plants of course). Larger stones (left or right side?). More Drift wood?
I think some stones around the base of the driftwood on the left would be nice and a nice low carpet plant of some sort on the right would really make things look nice and asymmetric
You know, I think that if you put some larger stones on the left hand of the tank, it would give the impression of weight and solidity to the base of the driftwood (which btw, is very impressive) as long as those stones were sufficiently tall enough. I would also increase the slope of the Aquasoil much higher towards the back and lower the left hand side to compensate for the stones. Just my $0.02 worth! ;)
Is the tank not flushed against the cabinet, maybe is the angle of the shot?
Dang, very nice!!! I wish I had that kind of budget. Can't wait till you fill it up with plants. I'm subscribing!!!
I just wish I had that kind of space!

Looks great, can't wait to see how it evolves.
Thanks for the input, Jason should be following this thread. I really like your idea Styx, it was actually a style we were considering.

Any thoughts on what types of plants? Foreground etc...?

Well it would depend on what kind of lighting you have, which from the pictures I can't tell but appear to be CLF or T8/5/2? Of course with the driftwood, it kind of demands some attention either with moss, or some anbuias of some type. From that you would have to decide if you wanted to pursue an iwugami or dutch style or another alternative. I think the iwugami is very nice, but that reflects my own distaste for stem plants, however beautiful they can be. Glosso is a nice starter foreground, and HC is always an excellent choice but can be far more difficult to deal with over the long term.
I am going to run 4 x 54 t5ho 2 midday and 2 flora. I haven't decided what I going with as far as plants..

Remind me how tall the 120 is? Is it 24 inches? If so you'll probably need more light than just 4 x 54s. You'll probably need an 8 fixture, but I always prefer to have more light available than less. You can always opt to not use all the bulbs with a larger fixture, but that is my own personal preference. Tank depth is important in terms of light penetration to the substrate level...check out the light stickys on the Lighting page for more info!
The tank is about 18 inches high
Ah, the same as the 90P. Well I think that you should decide on what kind of style you want and thus the type of foreground you have; if you want HC/Glosso you may want to invest in more lighting, but its entirely possible to achieve those with your current fixture depending on substrate depth. As always YMMV. I'm looking forward to seeing this project proceed!
Looks great. How did you/will you anchor the base of the driftwood?
if u look closely at the last pic, the wood is wedge against the the big rock on the left side
I agree on the rocks, if you get some nice tall ones, you could get a really nice effect where the driftwood looks wedged and got stuck from the flow of the river or somethig like that.

I'm still learning on aquascaping though, so yeah, I am always in nano tanks and tank journals to seek ideas for aquascaping.
I am pretty excited to watch the progress. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the suggestions.. planning on getting more rocks this weekend.
