I'm tearing out my java moss and will replant in a week. Can I put it in a large container with tank water and put it outside for sunlight? thanks

Ive pulled it out and put it in a container in my window sill for a few weeks.
it was subjected to < 30 degrees at night, and > 60 degrees during the day, with direct sunlight.

it still survived. Just replace the water halfway through the week to cut down on slimy surface scum.

Yeah I pulled it out and put it outside. I think the excel affects the moss growth, mine grew when I stopped dosing it.

I have java moss that I'm growing on plastic mesh as a moss wall and I am dosing metricide without any adverse affects. I am up to 2.5 - 2.75 ml's of metricide (low tech 20 long).

Also agree with others, it's tuff stuff. I keep an extra "wad" of it in an unheated, unlit tank, next to a window.
