3 weeks ago, i bought some clippings of java ferns from my lfs, and now they are floating but i have absolutely no signs of new root growths (which i want b/c i want to anchor to gravel when i see the roots)... i've cleared off all the old roots as i read that should encourage need root growth.

i also did a 50% wc the passed weekend and i think b/c of that the baby plantlets are sprouting like mad (compared to before the wc, they didnt seem to "like" growing, haha). i'm guessing that the rhizome is not interested in sprouting new leaves b/c its too bz with making babies...

Q: would using Flourish help them develop more leaves?
Q: should even bother with ferts at all?

yes, flourish is like food , if you dont feed you dog will it grow? it should help grow it ( making new leaves in the process)

yes, ferts are essential to a healthy plant.

just tie it down to something... java ferns are really slow growing. mine shoots out a leaf once or twice a week if that.. And it took a month or longer for it to anchor on my rock.
