I'm sure it's not just one factor, but I keep having a slight build up of a stringy algae in the fore ground on the gravel of my tank. It pretty much engulfed my HC, and I've since been trying to completely clear the area of hair algae before resuming failing at HC..
My parameters are:
- 10 Gallon
- Eco Complete
- Fluval C02 Mini
- Rootmedic Complete 500 (2x a week)
- Occasionally adding Flourish Excel
- Floor lamp with 26 watt 6,500K CFL
- Photoperiod: 3 hours from 8-11am then 4.5 hours from 7-11:30pm
I previously was running a 32 watt CFL, but figured reducing my wattage to 26 would help clear this up. Also have stepped up my water changes..
Should I Possibly decrease the wattage on my CFL further or should I keep with what I'm doing and maintain more frequent water changes? It seems like spots in the tank not in direct light don't have the algae issue... Thanks for any responses to my novel ^^! :icon_lol:
