Hi, I was wondering if anyone can id this plant. I got a package that was suppose to have stargrass, and I was expecting something short, but this is about 8 inches tall and I planted it as a single stem. Now I am wondering if it should be planted like a grass runner or cut up and planted as 3 or 4 separate pieces.

Thanks,

Jason

It looks like stargrass to me. If you trim it often, it can stay fairly short. But, left alone it can get 2' tall.

It's definitely not a grass, like hair grass, if that's what you were expecting.

So, wait for it to establish roots, then start cutting it, or should I divide it up now and plant it as four shorter segments?

I would let it get established and used to your tank before cutting it; it looks a little worse for the wear.
