I'm a collector of Pencilfish and picked three of these up at the store yesterday. They resemble my Nannostomus Nitidus in behavior and body form, except the top half of their bodies are a copper-red shade.

Very exciting collection! Nannostomus nitidus possess an adipose fin, while N. beckfordi do not. These look like N. beckfordi to me.

Are the other fish in your third picture also pencilfish? N. eques?
