Is this bba?

Does this look like bba? The plants are on the on the opposite end of the filter and not much flow reaches this side. I want to put a circulation pump but my bichir and striped raphael didn't appreciate it much lol.

Hard to say from the image. If the algae is black and has many hairs originating from the same spot then yes, BBA. If it is greenish and has only one strand per point of origin looks like fuzz algae to me.

Flow is good in general, but I had BBA grow at the filter output. The only thing that worked for me with BBA was to reduce the decomposing biological matter (mulm, reduce feeding, old wood?)

Is the algae only present there?

its there and some of my crypts. It's grey and chunky looking at some parts. I do vacuums and no wood. Feeding wise the bichir and catfish eat all there sinking pellets and blood worms every few days.

Also I only run lighting about 9 hours a day with the same leds for the past 5 months.
Does it come off easily? BBA generally has a good grip on the surface.
Whatever it was my ramshorns population exploded and they ate it all! Lol.

Unlikely it was BBA if ramshorn ate it, but glad you got rid of it :)
