Is this a form of Algae never had it before in any tank ive had in the past

I had that form on some of my driftwood.

I did a water change, then hit that area with a spray bottle filled with a cupful of excel and distilled water and a toothbrush.

Did the trick

Thanks only seems to be on the bark thats left on the wood thought it could be due to a co2 system as this is first time ive tried it

alot of driftwood goes through a phase where fungus grows. It's harmless some fish will eat it, it will eventually stop growing.

Ok thx did a water change on sat scrubbed the Algae off but now its back

It might do that a few times, but it will go away eventually.

Yip. Had those white fluffy stuff as well. Corys and Guppies cleaned it up for me. Don't fuss about it - it will go away.

Might that be Mopani driftwood? Ive got two pieces.....one has this stuff on it, theo other....none. Separated my maybe 10" in my 75 gallon tank. I remove what I can with a toothbrush. My Oto's, pygmy cories, and Sakura shrimp havent touched the stuff.....maybe they have better things to eat?

Ive had it on that one piece since Ive started the tank, maybe 6 weeks. I do inject CO2, and do weekly 50% water changes.
