Is this a flower??

Hey TPTers,

Recent I got two erio shiga sp. japan, and I noticed the other day on the tip of one it seems like a nude is forming. I have read that I should pluck these out. So I have two questions; one, should I pluck it out or pick it, second, when should I pluck/cut it off? Now or wait for it to develop a little?

These plants are on the smaller side so I just want to make sure I do the right thing and don't kill it.

It is a flower, but idk when you should do anything about it.
It's an inflorescence, composed of many tiny flowers. Pull it; the plant is expending energy into growing that instead of the vegetative growth you want.
Thanks, as soon as the light come on I will pull it out. I thought it was a flower, or as stated above a pod composed of many tiny flowers, I just want not sure if I should pluck it or cut it off, and when, but it seems like you should do it asap.
So I pulled on it a few times and it would not come lose, so I took a pair of scissors and snipped then flower and the majority of the stem off. Hopefully that will work, I did not want to have to uproot the entire plant and try and pluck it out with my fingers, they are still fairly new and already have been uprooted several times from some of my fish, that's why I "tied" them down with a homemade plant hook.

I'd have let it flower. I let all mine flower.

I've read that some of them will die after they flower, is this not true? Hard to find active advice on these plants, I guess not many people have them, or those that do are keeping their secrets!
I imagine some plants do die after flowering. Look at bananas. One and done. But God made it so that they go on. Although banana plants die off before they do the have pups. Same with bromeliads.
