Have you tried flipping him over so his foot is down on the substrate? If he still doesn't move, he's probably dead.

Mine do that all the time. They eventually flip themselves back over.

If it bothers you, just flip it back so the shell faces down.

I didn’t know if that was normal. He’s been like that for a few days. Opens up looks like he stretches his body then closes up again but no movement. Hopefully he moves soon.
