As per topic. I discovered my driftwood was not totally leeched of tannin, and it stained my tank water a light brown. Hence I had to do a 80% water change. The tank has been cycled with a few tetras for about a week.

Is it ok to add java moss to my tank now? Planning to get it tmr along once my lights are setup. Thanks for any advice.

[edit] Just read rex's guide, and he mentions using fast growing stems to cycle the water. Hence I assume plants are safe to add to new tap water? Since this will be a moss tank, can I use slow growing java moss as well to replace the stemmed plants. Perhaps dose ferts earlier to encourage growth?

of course...you can add plants at any time.
I wouldn't dose ferts without lights though....
