Is HC, or any plant, easy to remove from coco fiber?
I see some HC listed on different websites all grown in this fiber.
I plan to seperate the HC for planting. If it's easier to plant from pots, please let me know!
Thanks!

From the HC I started.... you don't need many roots if any to get the stuff going.
I just cut the few pieces I had and stuck em in the sand. Lots of light and co2 got them going real well. I would just cut most of the stuff away and plant it in small clumps. I used MGO with pool sand top...

Really? I thought that the roots were necessary.

I would start off by growing it emersed so it wouldn't float when filling the tank. I hear that is a common issue.
I've never grown this plant before, so I'm doing as much research as I can about it to prevent any problems!

I started out with just a small bit of none rooted HC.. Planted it in the sand and as it grew out I would cut it and stuff the 1/2" - 3/4" pc's in the sand with just about 1/4" sticking out.
First pic is at the start...second pic is two months later... Stuff grows great for me with a submersed start...

HC can float up even if you start out your carpet in the dry start method but it is harder. The reason it floats up is if you don't trim it enough and the carpet gets too thick the bottom parts of the plant don't get any light and will die. This will cause the entire carpet to float up to the surface.
