There is nothing in the ADA line (or any line, for that matter) that is a "must" to have a successful tank. You could have just aquasoil or you could have soil topped with sand. Both tanks have the capacity to be just as successful. Success is a result of the effort you put into your tank and knowledge you apply to it.
