Iron gluconate for plants?

527 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  redfishsc
Howdy y'all.

I used to dose my reef tank with "Fergon" tabs---- Iron gluconate.

It's been years since I kept planted tanks and can't remember if gluconate was considered useful or not.

I can get a box of Fergon tabs locally fairly cheap.

Anyone use these?

I think it should work fine, not sure what the exact dosing goal would be with fe gluconate.

I'm sure you are aware that FE Gluconate is used very quickly in the tank as well.
Thanks-- does it react into something useless, or is it used up by organisms (ie, is it an efficient or inefficient method?)
