Check out an interview I did with Peet from Lumersion Aquascaping in New Zealand!! We focused on my "3rd Rock - Genesis layout." Peet really did a fantastic job of creating questions and I had a blast talking with him!

Check it out here and let me know what you think?!

Great interview.

Addendum:

I notice you talk about a style shift. Where do you think its heading?

I feel like people have gotten over the initial impact of the hobby and are now starting to explore more of their own style. Certainly you see the "in thing" now and then but the main stylistic element swings seem more blunted if that makes any sense? Maybe the hobby is maturing to the point where people are knowledgeable of so many styles, large movements towards one or the other are somewhat minimized.

Nice job!

As a person who loves to grow new and demanding plants but also a person who likes a solid scape it is hard sometimes to not be tempted to stock a stylish scape with too many plants and to not fill my grow out/propagation tanks with a hard scape! I found myself scaping a QT tank in the basement the other night, turned out great IMO.

I'm still yearning for the day when I can actually set up a proper tank in my home that will allow me to scape and choose the plants I want in order to convey my aquascaping beliefs. I have it down pat in my office with a low tech Mini-m and a high tech 60-p but for home I'm still only left with the 37g (which is nearly impossible to scape because of its awkward dimensions).

I look forward to the next few years as you do to see what comes out of the woodwork. As one who does not like but does appreciate Iwagumi and other minimalist scapes and trend toward lush environments, hopefully there can/will be a synergy between the two that will end up creating the "next thing".

Keep up the good work, look forward to your future ventures.

I think we are going to see more and more landscape layouts.....layouts that include "trees" "mountains" and even man made structures.

Very interesting read. Good to see how far you have come since '05.
I am still surprised when i think about it. Thank you:)

I dont think you are alone;) I think most people have a really hard time with keeping their hands out of the tanks and letting them grow into something:) I think its a little easier for me because i dont really have a love for aquatic plants. To me, the beauty is in the layout:)

Thanks everyone:)
